A bold new watch brand has arrived – one challenging everything you thought a watch could represent.

At Smarts we love Spit Watches because it offers something entirely different: in the heritage-driven luxury watch world, it’s designed to spark conversation, not just admiration.

And we were honoured to help the brand launch in style last week, welcoming industry influencers and a stellar media turn out to an event at the Vinyl Factory, Soho.

Founder Edward Marguiles gave a moving speech on Split’s desire to challenge convention and champion connection, with an important vision to make talking about mental health as natural as checking the time.

In partnership with Anna Freud, Split Watches will donate one hour of therapy for someone in need, for every watch sold.

Our event generated incredible coverage in the likes of Shortlist and T3, whilst cultural icons and media personalities such as Don Letts and Jordan Stephens joined us to share Split’s story on their social channels.

“When I found my way back from a really dark place,” Margulies says. “I didn’t want to return to business as usual. I wanted to create something with guts. I came to understand the unique power a watch has to spark conversations, something that could live on a wrist but speak to the heart. Split is about vulnerability as strength – and the courage to wear it.”

In a world where silence still surrounds mental health, time spent listening matters.
